7 day cruise from to Malaga to Barcelona

Program

25.April.2008 - Friday Malaga/Spain - 5:00 PM
Malaga is the major coastal city of Andalucia and is a genuine and typical Andaluz city with a gritty individualism untouched by tourism and, to a large extent, the passage of time. The Moors occupied the city until the mid fifteenth century, after which it grew to become one of the foremost merchant centres in the entire Iberian Peninsula.

26.April.2008 - Saturday Gibraltar/Uk Overseas Territory 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Gibraltar is an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom. It is located on the southern part of the Iberian Peninsula at the Strait of Gibraltar that links the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea and places it between Europe and Africa. The territory shares a land border with Spain, to the north. Gibraltar has historically been an important base for the British Armed Forces, and is the site of a large naval base.

27.April.2008 - Sunday Motril/Spain 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
The town of Motril is located in the Spanish region of Andalucia on the Costa Tropical. This is the biggest town on the Costa with a thriving commercial, fishing and leisure port. Situated an hour and a half's drive east of Malaga International Airport and within easy reach of the magnificent Sierra Nevada mountain range, Motril is an ideal base for exploring the many delights of the Andalucian coastline and hinterland. Motril is the Costa's main shopping center, and the marina provides a wealth of water sports and boat excursions including trips over to Morocco. The town is also ideally placed for exploring the historic city of Granada (a 40-minute drive) with its Generalife Gardens and fabulous Alhambra Palace.

28.April.2008 - Monday - Oran/Algeria 10:00 AM 11:00 PM
Oran is a city in northwestern Algeria, situated on the Mediterranean coast. A popular destination here is Mt. Abdelkader: at over 375 meters above sea level, this iconic mountain preserves Oran's history. Featured at the summit are the Santa Cruz fort and Chapel of the Virgin Mary. Another fascinating site is Casbah (Citadel): the Casbah fortress located in Mers El-Kebir (army port 2 kilometers east of Oran City) was constructed during pre-colonial North Africa for defense purposes.

29.April.2008 - Tuesday - At Sea -- --

30.April.2008 - Wednesday - Ibiza/Spain 8:00 AM 10:00 PM
Ibiza rocks to a late-night dance beat, but when the sun rises, it draws sleepy sun-worshippers out to the island’s beach scene. Twisty streets in Dalt Vila (High Town) lead up to the 14th-century cathedral for views of the city and the blue Mediterranean beyond.

01.may.2008 - Thursday - Palma De Mallorca/Spain 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
Mallorca is an island of emerald mountains, turquoise seas, lemon and orange orchards, olive groves, and cedar-studded hills. In Palma, the capital, you’ll find a dramatic seafront cathedral to explore and leafy promenades to stroll. Visit the Arab Baths for a glimpse of the town’s Moorish past. Or simply enjoy the sun, sand, and sea that have beguiled celebrities, jet setters, and royal families for years.

02.May.2008 - Friday - Tarragona/Spain 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Tarragona is located on the Mediterranean coast, 60 miles southwest of Barcelona, Spain, in the region of Catalonia. While ealier settlements may have inhabited the area, the first occupation of Tarragona is attributed to Gneus Scipio, who founded a Roman military camp here in 218 B.C. It grew quickly and was named a colony of Rome in 45 B.C. by Julius Ceasar. Tarragona is considered the most important Roman town in Spain. Located on Spain’s pristine Costa Daurada – and just a short hop from Barcelona – Tarragona has miles of blissfully bare beaches, ancient Roman ruins, affordable accommodations and a vibrant cultural scene.

03.May.2008 - Saturday - Barcelona/Spain 7:00 AM --
Capital of proud Catalonia, Barcelona is a cosmopolitan city like no other. Old and new combine in Barcelona; narrow Gothic Quarter alleyways contrast with grand boulevards. Everywhere, the city celebrates the work of Gaudi, its surreal modernist hometown architect. The city also boasts an incredible collection of Picasso’s work. Stroll down Las Ramblas, Barcelona’s wide tree-lined boulevard and enjoy the street carnival. Enjoy delectable tapas in the many restaurants and bars. See what the Olympic fervor was all about.
